GM CEO Wagoner fired!

Can you believe that! I had a little rant about everyone driving too much on Saturday (see below), then first thing Monday morning the CEO of the biggest car manufacturer GM (otherwise known as Gimme Money) gets fired, by none other than the President of the United States himself Mr. Obama. In my memory I have never seen the CEO of a private company get fired by a President -in this country at least-, this is not a political blog, which is just as well, because my mind is still wrestling with the rights and/or wrongs of that action! Still it's good to know that President Obama is clearly an avid follower my blog, Mr. President the "followers" section is to the lower right of this post feel free to sign up.

Meanwhile Mr. Wagoner has got some time on his hands, and being a former fat cat exec without a current revenue stream, may I be so bold as to suggest you get out there on the sidewalks of America and start picking the cash up. The walk will do you good and I'm sure the cash wouldn't be unwelcome at this juncture...

On a side note, 11 cents found today, locations on map.

Sixth Cents

I had to take a trip out today and I had the choice to walk or drive. I must have had a premonition as I decided to walk and ended up 6 cents richer for the experience. Actually I'm a little bit better off than even that 6 cents would suggest, as I saved on gas by walking, eliminated parking costs, and got a little exercise thrown in for free! Detroit won't like it, but maybe the answer to a lot of our current problems could be solved by walking instead of driving!

It is a simple equation:

Walking = Finding Opportunity + Gas Saving + Health Benefit

As always the location of today's finds can be found on the map to the right.

Anybody out there found any cash recently? Let me know.

Theory Debunked

Well the rain last night did not flush out the coins as I had anticipated. I did however find 2 cents today, but both of them were indoors, totally opposite to my prediction last night. The locations of my finds can be seen on the map to the right. Previously I had been tagging my finds with longitude and latitude coordinates, but it is more manageable for me to update the map, especially on a day that I find a lot of money, if and when that time arrives! Happy hunting.

New Month End Report

I have decided to publish a month end report in order to track my progress to the ultimate goal of finding $1 Million. It will show my current rate of finding and then predict on which date I will finally reach the elusive milestone. I will also document the price of Gold, Silver and Oil in the report to see how visionary or futile (as the case maybe) my efforts have been!

Cash on the ground has been scarce of late, just two cents added since last time. I have pinpointed my finds on the map to the right ------->

It has been raining locally, so there should be some easy finds tomorrow, because in my experience fewer people stop in the rain to pick up dropped change. So there is a top tip for any budding Sidewalkers out there, if you want to get off to a good start make sure you go hunting after a rain storm!

Don't forget to keep an eye out for my inaugural month end report in a few days time, to get the first predicted date to reach my goal.

New Feature!

I have finally added a mapping feature to the right of the page to log my finds and progress. If you take the time to check it out you will see the location of the 7 cents added to the total today. It is my first attempt to incorporate a mapping feature so in all likelyhood it will need to be refined over time.

For the love of FED

I have a question. This week the Federal Reserve announced that they were basically printing a trillion dollars in order to purchase Treasuries and Mortgage Backed Securities. Now does this mean it will be easier for me to find money on the street as there is more of it sloshing around? Or has the the "Grim Reaper" of deflation beaten me to the punch?

I have not had much luck of late, but Mrs. Sidewalker snagged a dime on the way to the gym the other day.

Also, I'd like to give a big shout out to epwait for the tweet. (See comment section in the post below)

Dime a day

Since my last post, I have found dimes all over the place. Is this inflationary because it is not worth bending over to pick up a dime or am I just lucky! I have amassed 57 cents, five of them being dimes.
